I can't explain what I'm like. I'm not "like" anything, and if I were it certainly wouldn't be me. In my high school yearbook I said I wanted to end up "overeducated and unemployable." And I did. I went to Brown and got a philosophy degree and now I work at a Niagara Falls retail gift shop called "Wonderfalls". I have a mouth-breathing high schooler for a boss. Lately though, there is only one thing that defines me. I'm cursed. Animals with faces that aren't really alive talk to me and tell me to do things. It's very confusing, and I don't always understand. At first I thought I was crazy--still kinda do--so I resisted and I didn't want to do what they told me to do, but they wore me down, so now I do what they say. It isn't so bad, and even if what I do doesn't make sense when I do it, it all turns out well in the end. I hate it when people thank me.

I wish I knew what was behind the animals--God, the Devil, Bob--who it is that gives them a voice. Of course, the answer I got to "Why?" doesn't help me either: "Because you listen." What does that mean, and how do I stop listening?

Oh, and I live in the "High And Dry Trailer Park".

FAMILY

At first sight I'm the black sheep of the family. But when you get to know us all, you realize we each have something that separates us from the others. Dad is a conservative Republican. Mom drinks to much and is in therapy a lot. Sharon is a lesbian. Aaron is an atheist (who studies God). My issue is just less "acceptable" than all of theirs.

Though we all live in Niagara Falls, I don't see them as much as they'd apparently like me too. I just prefer my family time in short, controlled bursts. Disappointing my family is an extreme sport for me.

FRIENDS

Eric is the boy I like. Mahandra is my friend.

I've known Mahandra McGinty since almost forever. We suffered through school together, and now we're ~~suffering~~ drinking through life together. Misery loves company.

Eric Gotts came to Niagara Falls from New Jersey for his honeymoon with his new wife, Heidi. She promptly cheated on him with a bellboy, so he disappeared into the bottle at the bar/restaurant Mahandra works at, "The Barrel", for several days until they felt sorry for him and hired him as the bartender. Our ~~relationship~~ ~~friendship~~ association of odd sorts started there and has just gotten weirder.
